I don't know about you but I like my horror movies very kitsch with obviously fake monsters :D.
A while ago I watched The Devil Bat (1940)staring Bella Lugosi. An utterly silly plot and the bats were very obviously bits of black plastic on a wire but that's what gave it it's charm and fun for me :).
These old local horror movie shows were the BEST!! I miss the days when a horror host or hostess would come on and introduce some classic (or crappy) monster flick! Thank God there are folks like Penny Dreadful still out there keeping this tradition alive!!!

ReplyDeleteSweet. Thanks for sharing.Reminds me of when I was 6 and I saw King Kong on tv for the first time..I loved it. That is what got me into horror movies.
ReplyDeleteGreat to see Hedorah, a very underrated monster, in that opening!
